Artist Statement
" I was struck by the beauty of the shipyard scene from a distance along the St Lawrence river pathway in Prescott. The colors were so vivid on that misty day. The white was a stark contrast in the scene. Later I learned that the name of the big ship was the Judy Lamarche, and the tall school ship in front is the Orion. I was inspired to paint the scene after watching a documentary video of one of my favourite pastellists, Siddick Nuckcheddy, showcasing his exquisite "Port Series" exhibition."
