Artist Statement

"The glow in the lights above attracted my attention at the aviation museum we visited during our Washington DC vacation. I used my own photo reference for the painting. The pussian blue, brick red, and golden colours made this scene so visually harmonious.

The subject is an old space satellite system, with 2 solar panels connected by rods and parabolic dish antennas. It is called a Tracking and Data Relay Satellite (TDRS), from 1983. A real beauty!"
